Whilst completing her degree in English at the University of Leeds, Alice discovered her love for film making and television production. She joined the student run television station and with her best friend started presenting the weekly entertainment show, LS Fix, which she continued to do for the next two years. This provided an opportunity to interview some of the entertainment industry’s hottest stars including The Editors, Emile Hirsh, Christian Bale and John Cusack whilst at the same time honing her writing and producing skills.
In her second year, American TV Network PBS selected Alice and two other UK students to present and produce a documentary travelling across Australia and North America, interviewing inspirational leaders along the way. With only a battered campervan and the art of cold calling to guide them, the trio managed to organise over 20 interviews. Amongst the diverse success stories was Tony Wheeler the founder of Lonely Planet and Cheryl Hines star of Curb Your Enthusiasm. The show was a lead series on MSN Entertainment as well as other US outlets.
University proved to be a fruitful training ground, as only a few months after graduation both Alice and her former student co-host were snapped up by RDF television. The pair were brought on board as production assistants for a youth space project, A Message From Earth, but couldn’t help having a bit of fun with a video camera on the side. They wrote, produced and presented a companion show for the website on no budget in an empty office down the hall. Yet, they managed to bag interviews with everyone from Scott Mills to Sir Patrick Moore.
The social networking site, Bebo, spotted their potential and gave them their own weekly entertainment show in October 2008, “b-box”, which averaged 2.5m displays an episode and saw Alice rubbing shoulders with showbiz’s finest from Tom Jones to the stars of Harry Potter. When she wasn’t presenting from Las Vegas or jumping out of an aeroplane, Alice co-wrote and produced the show, earning the moniker ‘internet star’ from the Daily Mirror.
Recently Alice has presented from major industry events such as The Brits, Download, T4 On The Beach, London Film Festival, London Fashion Week, and many red carpet premieres.
Alice has just presented her own series on MTV called “Celebrity Bites”. The show screened internationally on the network has been a huge success and a second series quickly commissioned. She has also just presented “MTV Backstage at The Brits” as well as co-hosting their coverage of the EMA’s late in 2010.
