Liv Boeree

Biography

In six sensational years, Liv Boeree has progressed from disillusioned student to international superstar… all thanks to a keen intellect, sizzling looks and her fearsome prowess at a poker table.

Boeree is now best known as one of the world’s elite poker players, having earned more than $2m in some of the biggest and most exclusive tournaments in the world.

But her skills know no bounds. In between jet-setting from Las Vegas to Monte Carlo to everywhere in between, Boeree is also a television presenter and analyst, a rock guitarist, a horse-rider, a model—and even a scientist. Boeree has a first-class degree in physics with astrophysics from the University of Manchester and is a match for anyone, whether in the casino, beside the jukebox or at the laboratory canteen.

After finishing her studies, Boeree first entered the public eye as a contestant on a poker-based reality show on British television, where she learned the basics of the game from some of poker’s top pros. Oozing charisma and a natural in front of the camera, Boeree then picked up numerous television presenting gigs and journalistic assignments, all the while honing her poker game.

She then breezed with great haste through the ranks until she won the €1.25m first prize at the biggest ever tournament on the prestigious European Poker Tour. Soon she was a regular on the pages of glossy magazines and daily newspapers, as well as the sofas of television news.

She remains Britain’s “Red Hot Poker Girl”, “flush with success”—but her career has only just begun. She is a sponsored professional player with PokerStars, the world’s largest poker site, and the regular co-presenter of Channel 4’s coverage of the UK and Ireland Poker Tour.

Her next amazing achievement is also not too far away.
