Sean Maguire

Biography

Sean Maguire started his career at a very young age, one of six children; his first appearance was in the film A Voyage Round My Father with Sir Laurence Olivier when he was just five years old. His next big break came when he was ten. He was put up for a lead role in the long running children’s series Grange Hill. He got the part and played Tegs for four years.

Sean’s next roles were Simon Leighton in the drama series Dodgem, Jason in Growing Pains and appearances in the films The Secret Garden and Waterlands with Jeremy Irons. In 1993 he joined the cast of the British soap Eastenders playing Aiden Brosnan, a young Irish footballer. In 1994, Sean left the show to take a starring role in the BBC drama series Dangerfield playing Marty Dangerfield.

He then pursued a music career and released three albums, Sean Maguire in 1994, Spirit in 1996 and Sean Maguire Greatest Hits in 1998. During that time he had eight hit singles and did four UK tours.

In 1997, he returned to acting playing Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, Hal in the Joe Orton comedy Loot and Darren in the UK tour of Funny about Love with Stephanie Beecham.
Sean starred in the British film Out of Depth and played the title role in Prince Charming for TNT opposite Christina Applegate, Billy Connolly and Martin Short. He then played the part of Euan in the WB sitcom Off Centre alongside Eddie Kaye Thomas.

He appeared in three series of the hit US comedy Eve playing the part of Donovan, a nightclub owner. Most recently he appeared in The Class, a sit-com about a group of twentysomethings, which is currently airing in the UK on E4.

In 2008, his film Meet the Spartans hit the No.1 spot in the US Box Office Chart.

In Spring 2009, Sean appeared in Krod Mandoon and the Flawing Sword of Fire with Matt Lucas.  It was broadcast in the US on Comedy Central, and in the UK on BBC2, to much critical acclaim.  December will see Sean play the lead role of Dan in Mr Eleven on ITV1, opposite Michelle Ryan and Adam Garcia.
