Vic Galloway is a Scottish Radio broadcaster and television presenter.
His journey into Radio was unforeseen, so when asked to make a tape for this new regional Radio 1 show he obliged and, to his surprise, got the job! Vic co-presented the Session in Scotland on a Thursday night before yet another childhood hero, ‘John Peel’. The show lasted for five years from July 1999.
Its successor Vic Galloway on Radio 1 (now part of BBC Introducing) continues to this day, in a constant search for the best new musical talent from Scotland and beyond. Of course it makes perfect sense for someone who’s dedicated to music in all forms to be trusted with the job of informing and entertaining people on the Radio - free from ‘showbiz’ ego and pretentiousness. He also finds himself in the position of doing another show - Air (now The Vic Galloway Show) on Radio Scotland every Monday which has been running for over 6 years and has set out to inspire and enthuse all those who switch their dial to the show at 8pm every week. You may also hear his voice on various BBC radio networks now and again doing voice-overs, documentaries and music specials. He’s very proud of 5 hour marathon broadcasts at ‘Live 8’ and the ‘Concert for Tsunami Relief’ on Radio Scotland and two series of ‘Mouthing Off’ - like question time with teenagers… gulp!
In 2006, 2007 and 2008, Vic presented various packages for BBC TV from T in the Park music festival in Scotland. In 2008, he also presented a segment of T4 Transmission (C4).
2009 has already seen him voice various advertising campaigns for TV and Radio, as well as deputise for Huw Stephens on Radio 1.
